HYPEROPIA OR FAR-SIGHTEDNESS

People with hyperopia are able to see objects clearly at far distances, but struggle to see objects close up.
Eyeglasses are the easiest and the safest way to treat hyperopia.

SYMPTOMS

People with hyperopia find it hard to focus on objects close up. They might notice they're constantly squinting, or that their eyes get tired (eye fatigue) when they're reading or using the computer. Far-sighted people may also suffer from headaches caused by straining their eyes to improve their focus.

MANAGING FAR-SIGHTEDNESS

For far-sighted people, nearby objects are blurred, which can make reading, writing and viewing digital screens difficult.
This condition can easily be treated with specially shaped prescription glasses.
To correct the way light focuses on the retina, the lenses are thinner at the edge than in the centre.
